Mainline Railroad Signal Design

Our design professionals have extensive experience in railroad signal technology. We have designed projects with the majority of Class I railroads in North America. Our capabilities include:

 

  • Design of Relay Interlockings

  • Design of Microprocessor Interlockings

  • Application Software Design and Simulation

  • Electronic Coded Track Circuit Applications

We are fully capable in current versions of both Microstation® or AutoCAD® technologies, using either vector or raster files. We have completed system designs utilizing MicroLok®, VHLC, VPI, iVPI, ElectroLogIXS, and GEO®. 

 

Transit Signal Design

One of the unique capabilities of NST is that our engineers have a thorough knowledge of both mainline railroad and transit signaling. Members of our staff have designed system applications for many of the major heavy and light rail transit systems in North America and Internationally. Our capabilities include:

Highway Crossings

 

NST has designed numerous crossings for North American railroads including both new designs and retrofit applications. We have applied the full range of various supplier products ranging from AF overlays, to motion sensors and predictors, and solid state controllers.
